In an emotional statement, Debra and Martin Robinson said their sons Callum, 33, and Jake, 30, had been "young men enjoying their passion" for surfing.
They also mourned the loss of their sons' US friend, Jack Carter Rhoad, 30.
A Mexican man has been charged with "forced disappearance" and is expected to be charged with three murders.
Another man and a woman have been detained on suspicion of direct or indirect involvement in an attack. They have not been charged.
Local officials say the two Australian brothers and their American friend found dead in the Baja California state last week had been shot in the head and dumped in a well.
The officials believe they were attacked trying to stop the theft of their pickup truck.
A fourth body was found in the well, but had been there longer and was unconnected to the case, officials said.
The three friends had disappeared on 27 April while on a surfing trip in the city of Ensenada.
